Save the Date: Park(ing) Day

An urban campground, a mini-water park and a grand piano all in parking spots? That's just your typical Park(ing) Day finds in Downtown Chattanooga. Mark your calendars as 2017's Park(ing) Day is Friday, September 15th.

This year's event will take place from 11:00a.m.-3:00p.m. on East MLK Boulevard. We'll start at The Camp House and line the boulevard as far east as we have parklets.

What's Park(ing) Day, and how do you get involved? Park(ing) Day is all about celebrating public space and is open to anyone that would like to participate. Read up on the details (it's free!) and rules of the event from the original creators from San Francisco here and find some local inspiration here. The application will be available soon for all potential park(er)s, and we'll host a community meeting for anyone that's interested in learning a little more about the event on Wednesday, August 23rd at 4:00p.m. at our office - 850 Market Street, 2nd floor of Miller Plaza.
