Downtown's Cleaner and Greener April 6th
Downtown's Cleaner and Greener April 6th

Since 2011, Clean and Green has been cleaning up downtown with the help of local businesses, civic groups and citizens. Get involved with this downtown clean up and help your neighbors make your downtown shine.

At 8:30am on Saturday April 6th, teams will meet in Miller Plaza-850 Market Street to sign in and receive all necessary supplies (i.e. trash bags, gloves, graffiti remover) along with a complimentary breakfast and t-shirt. To get everyone excited for the cleanup, there will be a band and spirit squad along with giveaway from LifeKraze in the form of sunglasses, water bottles and more. After the clean up is finished, The Camp House will be hosting an after party sponsored by Chattanooga Whiskey.

Clean and Green will cover the entire downtown area including North Shore, Riverfront, Bluff View, City Center, MLK/UTC and Southside along with many downtown neighborhoods like Jefferson Heights, Cowart Place, Ft. Negley, Highland Park, Orchard Knob, Fort Wood and Hill City.

Clean and Green makes a great company volunteer day or group community service day. It is especially easy as all the planning and supply gathering are covered by River City Company. Just get your group together and sign up. Note that you can request certain areas of downtown or specific projects that you would like to help with. We will try our best to accommodate all requests.

In the program's two years, over 3,000 bags of trash have been collected along with graffiti removed from over 100 buildings and monuments. Fifty-five city blocks and numerous downtown neighborhoods and gateway neighborhoods have been cleaned multiple times.
