This FREE summer-long program, held each Friday evening from Memorial Day weekend (May 23) through the last weekend of September 26 at Miller Plaza, features a wide variety of headline performances by world-class musicians from around the globe. Each show begins at 7:00 PM with a local opening act, followed by the evening's headline performer at 8:00 PM.
From Boston (via Vermont) this tight trio consists of brothers Alan and Neal Evans on drums and Hammond B-3 organ respectively, with Eric Krasno (Lettuce founder) on guitar. Soulive creates a danceable organ-driven groove that fuses the soul-jazz of the past with a modern hip-hop feel.
Best known for her 1988 hits “Anchorage” and “If Love Was a Train,” this singer-songwriter’s music is influenced by her Texas roots, political activism and self-assured style. Performing with Michelle on this show will be The Lee Boys, one of America’s finest sacred steel bands.
A raucous but talented three-piece garage rock band from Athens, Georgia promoting their just-released second album Mission Control, the Whigs have toured the country and recently made appearances on both The Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Robben Ford came to national attention as part of the L. A. Express on Joni Mitchell’s Court and Spark and Miles of Aisles albums, and on George Harrison’s only U.S. tour. A fine vocalist and an outstanding jazz/rock guitarist with a distinctive style and tone, he came into his own with a series of highly acclaimed blues albums.
An Americancountry musicsinger-songwriter, Ketchum has charted 18 singles on Billboard’sHot Country Songs. His biggest hits to date are “Small Town Saturday Night,” Past the Point of Rescue,” and “Hearts are Gonna Roll,” all of which reached #2 on the charts.
