The vacant lot on the 700 block of Market Street has a revamped look and name: Center Park. Center Park is a newly designed pocket park in the heart of City Center that will host various activities for Chattanoogans throughout the coming months and be a spot for the public to use at their leisure.

Clean and Green = Success April 30, 2013

With 750 volunteers on April 6th, downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods are definitely the cleanest and greenest they have ever been in our biggest downtown cleanup to date. Over 1,500 bags of trash were collected and more than 20 buildings and monuments were stripped of graffiti in the five downtown districts of City Center, Riverfront, Southside, MLK/UTC and Northshore along with the neighborhoods of Fort Wood, Glass Farms, Glenwood, Highland Park, Hill City, North Creek and Orchard Knob.

Urban Design Challenge: Where are We Now? April 30, 2013

In August of last year, the Urban Design Challenge Finale took place at Track 29. If you were at the event, you were treated to stunning concepts of what Downtown Chattanooga could look like at six key sites: 700 Block of Market Street, Civic Forum Block at Market & 11th Streets, Patten Parkway, 4th Street Corridor, Vine Street Corridor and Main & Broad. While showcasing the local talent in architecture and design in Chattanooga, the community was tasked with envisioning the future potential downtown has and that quality urban design is important to its lasting use and functionality.
